IDLE documents the machines, people and moments that keep aircooled culture alive.
From major international gatherings to cars hidden inside small garages, IDLE captures the stories worth remembering.
We are not a club, a workshop, a marketplace or a news site. There is no forum, no classifieds section and no breaking-news feed. What there is: photographs taken properly, films cut slowly, and writing that takes the time to get the details right.
Most of what we publish starts with a conversation. Somebody mentions a bus that has been in the family since 1967, or a workshop with a back room nobody photographs, and a few weeks later we are standing in a driveway with a camera and too many questions.
We work mainly across the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France, and we travel further when a story is worth it.

Why IDLE?
The name represents the moments in between journeys.
Engines running, conversations starting and memories being made. Nobody remembers the motorway. They remember the twenty minutes in a car park afterwards, with the engine ticking as it cools and somebody telling a story they have told a hundred times.
We capture. You remember.
